Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the MenuSnapp mobile application and the related services and website at menusnapp.com (together, the "Service"), operated by the developer of MenuSnapp ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What MenuSnapp does

MenuSnapp lets you photograph restaurant menus and receive an AI-generated translation and structuring of their content, including dish names, descriptions, and prices converted into a currency you choose. With Premium, additional AI-generated and third-party content is available for individual dishes, such as meal analysis, dietary tags, images, and diner reviews.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Service. Basic scanning and translation work without an account. To use Premium features or make purchases, you sign in with your Apple or Google account; you are responsible for activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.

3. Purchases, subscriptions and credits

  • Billing. All purchases are made through Apple In-App Purchase and are billed to your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment card details.
  • Credits. Credit packs are consumable purchases. One credit unlocks Premium content for every dish on one scanned menu. A menu you have unlocked stays unlocked on your account and is never charged again.
  • Subscription. The unlimited subscription auto-renews monthly until cancelled. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Prices. Prices are shown in the App Store before purchase and may vary by region and change over time. The prices shown on our website are indicative only.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. Except where required by law, purchases (including unused credits) are non-refundable by us.

4. Translations and AI-generated content

Important: translations, dish descriptions, meal analysis, dietary and allergen tags, currency conversions, and generated dish images are produced automatically by AI and third-party data sources. They are provided for convenience and general information only and may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong.

  • Do not rely on MenuSnapp for allergy, dietary, religious, or medical decisions. Always confirm ingredients, allergens, and preparation directly with the restaurant.
  • Currency conversions use periodically updated exchange rates and are estimates; the restaurant's printed price in its local currency is the price you will pay.
  • AI-generated dish images are illustrative and may not match the dish actually served.
  • Restaurant identification, dish photos, and review snippets are matched on a best-effort basis and may relate to a different dish or establishment.

5. Your content

When you photograph a menu, you confirm you have the right to do so. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and process your menu photos and the content extracted from them for the purpose of operating and improving the Service, including caching translations and dish information so identical menus and dishes do not need to be re-processed. Do not photograph people or content unrelated to menus; we may delete such uploads.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • reverse-engineer, scrape, resell, or bulk-extract the Service or its content;
  • circumvent Premium gating, credit accounting, or purchase verification;
  • upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.

7. Third-party content and services

The Service displays content from third parties, including Google Maps / Google Places (restaurant details, photos, and review snippets), which is subject to those parties' own terms. We do not endorse and are not responsible for third-party content, including the opinions expressed in diner reviews.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. These Terms don't grant you any right to use our trademarks.

9. Apple App Store terms

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your download of the app, and to the extent these Terms conflict with it regarding your use of the app itself, Apple's terms prevail. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

10. Availability and changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features (including Premium content sources), and may suspend or discontinue the Service, at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available, but it is provided without uptime guarantees.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 4, 5, 8, 12, and 13) survive termination.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WITHOUT LIMITING SECTION 4, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT TRANSLATIONS OR OTHER CONTENT ARE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON TRANSLATIONS OR OTHER CONTENT (INCLUDING DIETARY OR ALLERGEN INFORMATION), AND OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR USD 50. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, AND NOTHING AFFECTS STATUTORY CONSUMER RIGHTS.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page with a new effective date, and your continued use of the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the operator of MenuSnapp is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are subject to the courts of that country — except that if you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections and venue rights of the country where you live.
